Sports Car Open

// Introduction

CoRe SimRacing is proud to announce the return of our endurance racing league: The 2019-2020 Sports Car Open!Just like our past seasons and events, all of SCO3’s action will again by covered by Racespot TV on the iRacing eSports Network!

// Schedule

After having stuck with the same circuits for SCO1 and 2, we’ve decided to mix things up a bit, based on the feedback we received following the end of last season. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will once again host the season opener, followed by the series’ first trip to Japan with a race on the Twin Ring Motegi Road Course and the first 8 hour event of the season at the 2nd new addition to the calendar, Sebring International Raceway. The new year as well as the 2nd half of the season will start at a familiar venue, the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit, before we will hopefully move on to Spain and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the final 4 hour race of SCO3. For our season finale we’ll visit the newly released and revised layout of the Silverstone Circuit for an 8 hour race.

// Cars & Classes

The car and class structure will largely remain the same as it was last season. The top class, Prototype 1, will once again be made up of the the Audi R18 and the Porsche 919 Hybrid, though both cars should be much closer in performance than they were this time last year. Prototype 2 will once again be a single-specification category, made up entirely of HPD ARX-01c cars, though their fuel capacity limit has been increased due to popular demand. The most notable change comes in the biggest of all 3 categories, Grand Touring, which sees the BMW M8 GTE joining the 3 cars that already competed in the series in the past.

PROTOTYPE 1 (P1)

  • Audi R18
  • Porsche 919 Hybrid

PROTOTYPE 2 (P2)

  • HPD ARX-01c [84 % (= 50.4 kg) fuel capacity cap]

GRAND TOURING (GT)

  • BMW M8 GTE
  • Ferrari 488 GTE
  • Ford GT GTE
  • Porsche 911 RSR
