Pro Mazda Championship
Featuring a balance of high technology and reasonable cost, the Formula Mazda is built around a rigid full carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and powered by a 240-horsepower Mazda rotary engine. The current Pro Mazda weighs in race-ready at 1,365 pounds and features a six-speed sequential gearbox with shift-without-lift gear-change and cockpit-adjustable brake bias and rear rollbar. Championship participants are permitted the same chassis and aerodynamic adjustments allowed in the physical world, including a choice of five spring rates and separate bump and rebound adjustment of the shocks. Light weight and serious downforce give the Pro Mazda ferocious cornering grip, particularly in high-speed corners. And the adjustability of suspension and aerodynamics means that a winning racer will be good at setup as well as driving.
